Take it a step further. If people lose their right to vote while imprisoned, then they will be imprisoned IN ORDER to stop them from voting. Just one more form of disenfranchisement.

The war on drugs exists solely to strip voting rights from people of color. Every adult American citizen should have the right to vote. Every single one.

For me, it is simple. If felons can't vote, why won't the government just imprison dissidents? Citizens should never lose their right to vote, even in Prison.

Felons should never have lost their right to vote. They are counted in censuses and are considered part of the constituents in a district, yet they have no say in their government.
