If voting is a right then the comission of a crime should never negate that. In fact, i would go one step further and make voting mandatory for everyone 16 and older and as easy as possible to complete.

The fastest path to end mass incarceration is to restore voting rights to every citizen - even those in prison. No sitting Member of Congress will want there to be a prison full of pissed off voters in his/ her district.
