Capitalism without a conscience is the problem, not the solution. Do you think publishers don’t decide what books to publish? Newspapers don’t decide what articles to print?

It is up to newspapers and publishers to publish books and articles of interest to their audience, with market niche correlating to literary representation. Media monopolies remove market niches and, once solidified, can bend the Overton window whichever way they wish.
