I understand “defund the police” isn’t the best language, but where was all the outrage when they were defunding education, defunding Headstart, defunding hunger & anti-poverty programs, defunding violence prevention programs, defunding peace projects & defunding social services?

There is outrage because defunding the police is the only one that personally impacts some. Some see police as protection, because that’s what some folks’ experiences have been, and so they are feeling afraid.

The economy is the distraction from life. Now that the economy is quieted down, people are listening and seeing for the first time. They are aware, not distracted.

Doesn't defunding the police go against a leftist mindset of big government? It makes no sense and it is becoming a tale of double standards across their party platform.

Defund the Police is actually a compromise. DTP and instead invest in the areas that provide social stability that reduce crime to begin with. Just like M4A is the compromise position that would fund the private healthcare sector, instead of creating a system like NHS.

The disconnect that you're finding is with people who literally have no idea that the govt defunds all of the time, and it has defunded programs that helped us to fund things that harm us. We no longer have a citizenry educated enough to be capable of self governing.

Defund is the best language, because that's what we mean.

“Defund the police” isn’t the best language in the same way people said “Black Lives Matter” wasn’t. People need to stop getting caught up with critiquing “language” and just get on board with the message.

I'll tell you where they are...They're out WORKING real jobs now...Not belly aching on Twitter for free handouts or tax payer funded programs from the Democrat dictators of Congress. I guess it's true, it's easier to get mad & BLAME others than get a job.
