Undue violence is not the sole property of the police; society is filled with violent ,brutal & thuggish people -- infact, much of the 'defund the police' motivations stem from attributing a person's own impulses or qualities on to cops. No Police, No Justice, No Civil Order.

I disagree. It's a retrograde police force that has never learnt the modern-day police methods. Using a firearm and violence should ALWAYS be the last option. It's a real art to negotiate. At places like Quantico, the FBI has it in training. #PoliceReform
The police in Norway haven't killed a suspect in 10 yrs. In other countries, the rate is in the single digits. Like healthcare, America gets it wrong when it comes to policing. It's time we looked at how other countries keep all of their citizens safe, including from the police.

Mankind's capacity to do evil did not begin with the creation of the police who are in effect intermediaries between society and g'ment.
Demanding the cops be perfect, whilst ignoring society's obligation to act in accord with the law seems asymmetric to the point of futile.

I think it has as much to do with the all-powerful @NRA has legal indemnity to supply the police force with armaments and it's the culture nurtured of officers using guns at will being trigger happy. #GunControl
Insane. Deeply disturbing. It's easy for psychological illness to become a scapegoat. Their way of keeping right of ownership - congresses open slather, unchecked — lax passage of gun laws. Blame society's most vulnerable. #thoughtsandprayers

There is a place for brute force, but it should not be the problem-solving modality used universally. And the best way to deal with what you describe is to infuse the life of the average American with massive economic opportunity.
