I keep thinking about what might have happened to me, a white woman, if I had fallen asleep at a drive-through line at Wendy’s. I think it’s reasonable to assume that given the seriousness of the offense I might have gotten...a ticket.

You would go to jail because you were drunk. Don't answer questions, go to jail and call a lawyer. Also, be thankful that you didn't kill anyone by driving drunk

He was parked in a legal parking space and not blocking the lane.

Oh a ticket or maybe a verbal admonishment. The subjectivity in policing is real. So much latitude. And when you ya e a bigoted or implicitly biased affected cop all the leverage of benefit of doubt goes out window for PoC.

For those of you who are commenting about the events that happened after he had moved his car... Had he been white, they would have never happened. The officer would not have second guessed his first instinct (documented on several cameras and audio files) to let him sleep.

I was watching a video of my former hometown on fire from Central Oregon last night. So surreal...meanwhile my friends protested in Prineville again yesterday. There was a photo of them in a Time article last week. Still received hate. Change is afoot. Hope.

I'm white, I would have been shot if I stole the officers gun and tried to use it on them. Ya know, it stuns you enough that you can't protect yourself. I could steal the gun and shoot everyone with it.

I doubt that you would have even received a ticket...Just a warning to be careful and maybe even an escort home

Your stock is dropping Marianne. Tell the whole story. I thought you were above these spins.
