I keep thinking about what might have happened to me, a white woman, if I had fallen asleep at a drive-through line at Wendy’s. I think it’s reasonable to assume that given the seriousness of the offense I might have gotten...a ticket.

You'd have gotten a cheese burger, after someone gently woke you up. I wouldn't even consider that "white privilege" necessarily, just basic humanity and decency. Something that is trained out of all new police recruits.

They probably would have rapped on your window, asked if you were okay, and advised you to move on. I doubt you would have been ticketed. The world is too unequal.

And maybe told to call a ride while they waited

I don't think anybody would've called the police on a white woman asleep in her car. They would've woke you up and asked you to move your vehicle.

My grandfather was put into the back of the police car and given a ride home, one of the officers drove his Cadillac home and parked it in the driveway. He was a white business owner in Los Angeles in the 1950 and a member of the chamber of commerce.

You seem to have missed a few details in your hypothetical. You’re not drunk, you’re not resisting arrest, you’re not grabbing the cop’s taser...

Where I live if you're poor or black/brown it gets you a DUI and fines, jail if you can't pay. If you know people, or have money, they'll take you home and cover it up. You'd be all set here! Not sure if there are regional and municipal differences.
