I keep thinking about what might have happened to me, a white woman, if I had fallen asleep at a drive-through line at Wendy’s. I think it’s reasonable to assume that given the seriousness of the offense I might have gotten...a ticket.

Nothing would've happened, because I assume that you're quite calm, accomodating and willing to listen to the police rather than reaching for their stun gun, driving carelessly, attacking police cars/the police and acting in a barbaric manner. Doubt you'd be on drugs either.

I would’ve had a reason to assume that I had a good chance of being treated respectfully, while at this point a young black man unfortunately has reason to panic. “Driving carelessly & attacking police cars??”And the barbaric behavior here was on the part of those who killed him.

Yes a ticket and a call for an Uber. Giving car keys to that Uber man. And a nice, ' Happy birthday, for your daughter mam'. Share stories of this? This arrest was NOT needed. #RayshardBrooks was talking 20 minutes, doing difficult stuff like pulling leg and walk on a line.

Naaw, a white woman.....you'd have been driven home or at least allowed to call someone to drive you home.

You would have gotten a gentle tap at the window and a smile. And an inquiry if you are all right. Me too, as a white lady. That is the very definition of our white privilege.

If you had an alcohol content over the limit, you would have been arrested. Police can't leave drunk drivers on the road. There are too many instances of a cop giving a drunk a pass and the drunk starting up the car and killing someone later.

Except that's not what happened Marianne. You know that though.

If you were intoxicated, you would have been arrested and gone to jail.
