Killing of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta last night proves America’s system of policing is irrevocably broken. A 27-year-old falling asleep at a Wendy’s drive-through does not deserve death! And no, there is not even one excuse for it that should be tolerated by a civilized society.

I absolutely agree with you.

Not entirely true. The man struggled with two officers. He fled arrest and pointed a taser. It was the cumulative effect that resulted in his death. That said, the officer should be charged with manslaughter

You missed a few beats. The drunk dude stole the police officers taser. Resisted arrest. Then pointed the taser at the police officer. Seems like a justifiable shoot to me.

Can't help but wonder how the person who called the cops on him is feeling right now.

Don’t run from the police if being arrested don’t struggle just do what your told and no harm will come to other than a sore wrist it’s not 1950 where you running too they’re going to find you and then you’ll be in more trouble

Yeah, but come on Wendy’s employees just knock on the glass of his car window and ask him to pull up into a parking space.

Full investigation and the family should be compensated—no more free ride on police misconduct. We can’t have a nation without peace.

A thread: Let me educate yall on the 3 criteria needed to justify deadly force. Capability=is this person capable of killing me? Opportunity=is this person within maximum effective range of killing me? Intent=(hardest to prove in court) does he intend to kill me?

Until we stop pretending that it is so incredibly difficult to avoid a confrontation with the police, the void between 2 segments of our society with vastly different standards for themselves will continue to grow.

his upper body was turned toward the cop as he was firing the taser back at him, if he'd hit the cop and stunned him, he could have taken the cop's gun and killed him with it, with so many cases of cops brutalizing and killing law abiding citizens, this is the wrong fight to pick
