1/ False positivism is when you pretend things aren’t really so bad when in fact they are. The most positive thing is always to tell the truth, and sometimes that means shedding light on something that’s negative.

2/ There’s a common Holocaust tale about people who would say to their neighbors, “Have you seen Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz and their children recently? No one seems to know where they are!” And the response would be, “Oh let’s not discuss unpleasant things! Let’s just be positive!”

3/ So the moral of the story is “Let’s be positive.” Every effort to register anyone to vote, to motivate anyone to vote & to counter to nefarious voter suppression efforts now being planned around the country, is the positive action of someone who knows negative when they see it

Dismantling systematic racism must involve the census, registering to voting, HARD conversations, and making people DAMN uncomfortable. And remember, the fate of the impoverished is inextricably tied to the fake of black people in America. Build those unfamiliar coalitions!
