All of this is happening because in 2015 SCOTUS started chipping away at the 1965 Voting Rights Act! Ruth Bader Ginsburg dissented, warning that this would happen. She said if we weakened the umbrella then we’d start getting rained on again. As usual she was right, of course.
The GOP position (at least in Georgia) appears too be in-person voting is both a sacred right and something that should be made as hard to do as possible.

Section 5 of the VRA, I still remember one justice basically declaring racism "over" when he made that ruling. Disgusting.
