Perhaps worth considering, but also "we can't disband police because cops are piss-baby terrorists holding all of us hostage" is an argument that really seems to underscore the depth of this problem.

I’m all for disbanding police departments as they now exist but we need to remember a piece of history. When the US invaded Iraq we disbanded their army, and those former army forces created ISIS. The last thing we need is thousands of angry excops forming a militia of their own.

Oh I know — I said it, and agree it’s worth considering how they’ll react. But also important that we not allow ourselves to be held hostage by cops who’ve shown themselves incapable of reform.
