There you have it, folks. That’s it right there.
The NYPD’s budget is $6,000,000,000 That’s more than the city spends on health, homelessness, youth development and workforce development combined.

Other annual city police budgets for context: LAPD $1.7 billion; Chicago $1.8 billion; Houston PD $900 million; SFPD $600 million Combined they are still $1 billion less than NYPD.

For folks scrolling too fast. That’s 6 BILLION (nine zeroes), not million. Let that sink in.

That's because without the police, New York City wouldn't last 3 days; mayhem and anarchy would destroy the big apple.

Thank you for helping raise awareness. Crime has been steadily decreasing since the 90’s and research suggests that it has little to do with increased police presence. Defund the police now!
You don’t need to “defund” neighborhood and State security in order to feed or fund other groups of people. You need to require the job be done right, and ensure those more qualified are hired. Reform is key. Stop handing talking point softballs to the GOP.

Wow, if they spent half of that on the residents surviving under the poverty line - they could boost the economy in less affluent neighborhoods and improve health, education and employment prospects for millions of NYers! Plus city sales tax

The government misappropriating tax dollars, that's a shocker.

Police state. The same with warfare. So much invested in destroying.
