There you have it, folks. That’s it right there.
The NYPD’s budget is $6,000,000,000 That’s more than the city spends on health, homelessness, youth development and workforce development combined.

So when violence and terrorism go up the Big Apple, there you have it, folks. That’s it right there.

NYC is also the number one terrorist target in the world. NYPD has officers embedded around the world with other police forces since 911. NYPD is involved not just in NYC.

What % is that of the overall budget?

Would be nice if some of that went to reparations.

Did some quick numbers on this. NYPD employs 36,000 officers at an create salary of 92k per year. Thats 3.3 billion there. Another 19,000 civilian employees make anywhere from 32-140k. If you averaged it at 50k, that’s just under another billion per year. 1/2

Defund. Go ahead. I think it would be a great case study for future generations. If you believe dismantling the police forces across America is the answer good luck. I’ll go live in the mountains in MT or WY and take care of my family and watch the chaos unfold.

I’m sure that had nothing to do with a little incident on 9/11/2001 and the multiple terrorist threats and actions on NYC since then.

The 1 billion dollar cut is not enough! We must slash 60-70% of their budget, otherwise they’ll increase their budget to 10 billion so if we take 1 , they’ll actually end up with more funds.

Sorta like how the military dwarfs all federal spending too.
