1/ One of the things that can weaken us as a generation (by generation I mean all of us who are adults now) is that we’ve gotten used to a kind of instant gratification. It can emotionally weaken us when we see things totally not working & we don’t see how to immediately fix them

2/ It’s an emotional shift from “I can have what I want when I want it” to “OK, I get it, they’re going to play hardball, this is going to take some time, it’s a process, it’s going to take a lot of effort but we’re up for it - the bastards are not going to take this country.”

3/ Something it’s important to remember is that every time you see an image that completely outrages you, there are millions of other people who feel the same way. We’re going to harness all that and turn it into political force. That’s what they think we can’t do - but we can.

4/ Try to avoid “But we tried this and it didn’t work” or “We tried that and it didn’t work.” We’ve never been awake like we’re awake now. If each of us puts in even a fraction more effort than we put into all this before, democracy & love will win - & our ancestors will be proud

Yes, but in the particular case of fixing the system, they've already had years upon years, and all indication was that they were possibly going to let the #GeorgeFloydmurderers get away with it. They caused the protests to be a #COVID19 risk by not addressing it properly.

Indeed! Instant gratification is the drug that the big corporations want us addicted to. It fogs the mind and makes the people compliant. Reduce consumerism. Do slow food (grow, cook, eat). Pay attention to the little moments in life.

I attended your last Tuesday night in NYC. Which was amazing. Drove up from Binghamton to see the Hilma af Klint exhibit at the Guggenheim and then you in the evening. Did you get a chance to see that exhibit? She was such an interesting spiritual force I thought so much of you.

Yes! I hope you’re doing that with other people as well. An idea grows stronger when it’s shared. So does a vision. Creative artists working in tandem now, doing exactly what you’re saying, will exponentially strengthen the field.
