So many of the protests that remain peaceful are those where the police officers join the protestors. It's surprising that the other police officers are not learning the simple lesson of listening and connecting first.

I cant stress this enough, if you arent out protesting dig in to history of peaceful protests that turned bloody by state sanctioned violence. There will never be perfect comparisons but between Northern Ireland and other places we have examples. amp.theguardian.com/politics…
