So about those mayors that we all thought were pretty socially enlightened guys. Is it that they were lying the whole time, or that they themselves are scared and are basically incapable of controlling their police forces? Trying to figure this one out.

“A little Scared”
L.A. Mayor Garcetti says he’s “a little scared” about ending curfew, “but sometimes that’s what you got to do.” ktla.com/news/california/cal…

I’m beginning to think you are correct. The police view the govering officials as someone they don’t have to listen to. The whole narrative brought on by you know who. Of course this was bound to happen. trump has marginalized local and state authorities all ones the place.

Police unions donate and drive votes, it’s time to talk about term limits. Folks need to be elected and serve and quit worrying about getting re-elected

they are scared of the police forces, they have HUGE power, both money and politically, to sway local elections. So often even socially left mayors struggle to balance justice and demands by cops to be without reprieve for actions.

Large cities have huge police forces. #bluekluxklan cover for each other. I don't think it is so cut and dried or easy.
wouldnT we like to know? there is a new 21st century highly reliable #EyeDetect nonintrusive, 30 minute, cost-effective lie detector test. from @ConverusInc - along with th @callisto "information escrow" online reportG system, th good guys can gang up on "The Others". it's 2020

Cuomo rolled back bail reforms, cut Medicaid during pandemic, cut 10s of 1,000s of hospital beds, gave immunity to executives of nursing facilities, and tried to remove @BernieSanders & @AndrewYang off the primary ballot. He is known for his corruption. He was never enlightened.

They haven't been able to control their police forces in decades. The police union threaten walk-outs at any real suggestion of change. Only a handful of cities\departments have been able to fight that.
