Just in case anyone out there might be even for a second confused about this, let’s remember that soldiers at war are trained to destroy an enemy while domestic police theoretically are trained to serve and protect our citizens.

Violence is not on a higher moral plane if it's done by a member of the military instead of someone with a badge in a uniform.

Unfortunately there is a longstanding history of police depts hiring infantry combat veterans. While I believe society should make a place for veterans employment it should not be in law enforcement. Early training matters and having people trained to kill as cops is a bad idea.
