No. I agree, but there are some VERY dark misquided people terrorizing the streets in the dark of night. It would be awful to see such an essential American monument defaced and vandalized.

It's an amazing and totally American image. We are so thankful they are there to protect our monuments from the anarchist protesters

Really? You would rather the rioters be allowed to vandalize more of the monuments in DC? Nobody likes that image but they can't be allowed to destroy everything in their path.

Tell that to David Dorn’s family. Americans showed universal compassion for George Floyd. Why not, David Dorn? Do only criminal black lives matter? George Floyd didn’t deserve to be murdered. Neither did David Dorn.
