I hope every Episcopalian feels proud of Bishop Mariann Budde tonight. Her words on Lawrence O'Donnell are everything religious leadership should be - particularly right now. Beautiful words, wonderful woman. A true moral voice.

I am a proud atheist and I am proud of her words... religious symbols, of any kind, have no place in our politics (see The Constitution). Morality had nothing to do with what Trump did... it was purely for his own benefit, and disgusting.

Separation of church & state doesn't mean religious people aren't supposed to talk! They have as much to say as anyone else, often more important than most. Separation of church & state protects govt from church interference on policy & protects church from interference by govt.

"Idolatry is worshiping anything that ought to be used, and using anything that ought to be worshiped" - St. Augustine. This use of the Bible is idolatrous. @FrMalloy

I watch Lawrence O’Donnell show every night so as last night but he did not have Bishop Mariann Budde in his show L-night when trump raised bible w/hand front of her church but CNN’s Anderson Cooper had her in his show instead, so she & another priest from same church were at CNN

I am consistently given reasons to be a proud Episcopalian :) - So glad our leadership speak out and spoke out once again.
