1/ What is happening in America today was completely predictable. None of this came from out of the blue. For decades, the political class created an endless string of pleasures for the few and miseries for the many that could not go on forever.

This is highly accurate! Administrations from both parties espoused globalism which created less income inequality in poor nations, but greatly increased income and wealth inequality in western developed nations. See Capital in the 21st Century by Thomas Piketty for tons of data
