1/ A friend told me tonight we need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. No we don’t. There has been enough talk. We do not need a forum or another commission. We need a total and complete mea culpa and a serious plan of reparations with a big enough number put on the table.

2/ Nor do we need any more politicians wringing their hands and saying we really do need to address systemic racism, without having the courage to offer an real solutions. We don’t need you to condemn police brutality; we need you to stop it.

3/ Police brutality is the tip of the iceberg. Our criminal justice system is brutal. Educational system withholding resources from the poor is brutal. Environmental policies in black neighborhoods is brutal. Brutality towards blacks is laced into the system now and it must stop.

I’m starting to agree with you on this one Marianne.

It feels like we're gonna make up for the last 50 years of doddling around. We don't have the hindsight bias yet but I have faith that the children of the future can still look back and be proud of what we accomplished. I'll never stop fighting for that. By any means.

So just throw money at it and everything will be okay. Solid idea 🙄

Your friend had that same Leftist attitude. Government will protect us. It doesn't look like they're doing a very good job.
Still got that rifle and ammo for you if the time comes, Marianne. 😁 Hope you and your loved ones are staying safe!

you are right. this is not just a race issue; it is a class issue. if you are poor, you are more likely to be jailed for no reason. if you are black, you are more likely to get arrested or killed.

Prison for police brutality and serious financial aid for all the loss from targeted incarceration. War on drugs and austerity for the poor is a slap in the face of humanitarian justice. Forced poverty is bipartisan in wealthy Congress. They take us as fools and ATMs.

Why would you people who have never enslaved anyone to pay people who were never enslaved? We have a race problem to be sure, but this foolishness (and talk about this foolishness) only makes things worse There is no such thing as collective guilt determined by skin color.

Thank you for saying what many of us have been feeling for a long time. We must get this right, and we must get it right soon. We cannot wait any longer.
