1/ A friend told me tonight we need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. No we don’t. There has been enough talk. We do not need a forum or another commission. We need a total and complete mea culpa and a serious plan of reparations with a big enough number put on the table.

2/ Nor do we need any more politicians wringing their hands and saying we really do need to address systemic racism, without having the courage to offer an real solutions. We don’t need you to condemn police brutality; we need you to stop it.

3/ Police brutality is the tip of the iceberg. Our criminal justice system is brutal. Educational system withholding resources from the poor is brutal. Environmental policies in black neighborhoods is brutal. Brutality towards blacks is laced into the system now and it must stop.

Yes and we need to stop the violence in our words, and in our silence. Using justification for the lack of serving those who need help is just as neglectful. There's no more saying "I didn't know." We know.

Actually I would encourage such a Commission. But that can't happen until a SINCERE Administration is in office - and that won't happen for at least another four years. But that is the way forward - if we can ever get to a starting point.

Why should someone pay for crimes he didn't commit?

I don’t agree on #1, but I do on #2 and #3. I’m disappointed that you are not at least being considered for VP, but the establishment probably thinks that you are too much of a threat. You are too smart and reflective to be in politics. That is a sad problem when cities burn.

I would much rather have a Marshall Plan for impoverished (and thus disproportionately black) communities than outright reparations. Less messy and divisive, but much more importantly (if done properly, of course), more impactful. Any thoughts on that?

I thank @Thom_Hartmann every time I read one of your tweets like this, because his show is where I first learned about you when you *announced* running for president. I'm sickened by the fact that we had so many options (some great like you!) and somehow ended up with @JoeBiden
