1/ As an older woman, I’d like to share my memories of a time when America was this chaotic before. The Kennedys and Dr. King and the students at Kent State had all been killed. There were riots and cities burned.

2/ The grief & frustration & anger were off the charts. It felt as though the country would never get through it. And I share this for a reason: we did get through it. And we will get through this. This time too is sad. It is painful. It is infuriating. And we will get through it

3/ As angry as I feel sometimes toward those who destroy I’m overwhelmed with love towards those who love. Yes there are serious threats in our midst. But millions are rising up as well, displaying the heart & intelligence of who we really are. It’s a time to pray & a time to act

I remember those days. Remember how Mayor Daley and the DNC capped it off by dismissing the candidate with the most primary votes and installing HHH as the nominee, thereby giving us Nixon? Too damn familiar.
