1/ As an older woman, I’d like to share my memories of a time when America was this chaotic before. The Kennedys and Dr. King and the students at Kent State had all been killed. There were riots and cities burned.

2/ The grief & frustration & anger were off the charts. It felt as though the country would never get through it. And I share this for a reason: we did get through it. And we will get through this. This time too is sad. It is painful. It is infuriating. And we will get through it

3/ As angry as I feel sometimes toward those who destroy I’m overwhelmed with love towards those who love. Yes there are serious threats in our midst. But millions are rising up as well, displaying the heart & intelligence of who we really are. It’s a time to pray & a time to act

4/ Always remember: Love will win. But it needs our hands and it needs our feet. It needs our words and it needs our actions. It’s not just that we need love right now. More importantly, love needs us. Think deeply. Pray hard. Show up. Amen.

Amen Tresha. Enough. It’s enough. More of us willing to stand with you. More of us than them. They won’t just change on their own. We have to force change sadly.

We “got through it” or time just moved on. Viet Nam still raged on, we became greedier, the country moved right. Lines between dem/repub blurred. Half the country doesn’t vote. Rich got richer. The moral arc doesn’t bend towards justice unless we face reality and force it to.

These are not riots, but rebellions against the system of racism white supremacy.
