I have an argument with a friend where I support free college, Medicare4All, Green New Deal etc. & she tells me we need an "incremental approach;" that such things are "too far left." I tell her they're centrist in Europe. She says "We're not Europe." I bang my head against a wall

What would be the downside of making everything free? Also, do you believe air and water and other natural resources belong to all? Should industries pay the people when they put pollution or deplete natural resources? Should policy work to limit impacts to match what ppl want?

Why is incremental approach superior? If you have a disease, would want to incrementally get better over a course of 5 years & compromise the quality of your life or get the most innovative medical solution/care and get better over a month? Incremental is not ideal.
