1/ The system works in such a way that we’d be all outraged & heartbroken now about George Floyd, but after a few days outrage fatigue takes over and we’d return to the chronic state of low level depression among millions of people that is exactly what keeps the system in place.

2/ Change won’t come from spurts of adrenaline-based effort bound to depress us more when any one effort doesn’t succeed. It will come from hunkering down and preparing ourselves for a long sustained effort, an activism that’s here to stay because we’re not done until it’s done.

3/ You can turn to the back page of the book & see how the story ends: Love wins. Love wins because that's ordained; what's completely up to us is how long it takes & how much suffering comes first. The people of the world have suffered enough. It's time for love to have its say.

Sometimes it all feels too complicated and impossible. But at heart it is quite simple: mankind and the planet survives better where altruism leads. We owe it to the next generation to fight for a fairer system. I won’t give up.
