Memorial Day toast:May there come a day when museums of war are dedicated to a phenomenon that no longer exists. May there come a day when the the last person who experienced war takes with them to the grave the only living memory of the experience that still existed on the earth

Lovely. Meaningless, disrespectful and trite, but lovely. How about actually mentioning that today memorializes men and women who actually gave their lives in war so you could twitter this useless drivel?

Absolutely! And may one day the youth on other planets look our way and say with awe: “I want to visit Earth because the people there came together to bring peace to their planet... and at the same time helped to establish peace in space, as well.”

there will come a day when all of us realized that we really can just say no
There is a long and proud tradition of American soldiers who have come to see they have more in common with those they’ve been told to kill than with the criminals who run the empire, and have refused orders to fight. We must celebrate and honor that tradition. #MemorialDay

Indeed, Marianne. We need to stop the "dark psychic force" that is the MIC & foreign policy establishment and instead have a noninterventionist foreign policy based upon the tenets of peace, diplomacy, & mutual cooperation. Cicciolina (Ilona Staller) is a huge inspiration.

I am a pacifist by nature but our founding fathers knew that sometimes fighting for our beliefs, for the belief of Freedom is worth defending to the death. We must and will stand up for ourselves & this sometimes makes War inevitable #Peace #Love #Freedom
