Same reason we don't create a system to let people vote online/from their phones. It can be done, we CAN keep it safe and secure, but it would make it easier for insurgent candidates to beat establishment incumbents, so of course, they oppose it and pretend it could never work.

If the voter database was accurate it might stand a chance but I received a ballot for a woman that's never lived at my address my business has received a application for an absentee ballot for a place that doesn't have anybody living there. What a Joke!😕

Actually, voting by mail tends to cause voting for Democratic Party candidates and progressive causes which is why it's opponents oppose it.
