1/ Everything that was right about the post World War II era (alliances of cooperation etc.) they’re tossing aside. Everything that’s an obsolete perspective left over from the 20th century & totally inapplicable to the 21st (racist,imperialist tendencies etc) they’re shoring up.

2/ There’s a deeper virus than just a biological one here. More like a virus in a computer, disabling our operating system, inhibiting our moral functioning, unraveling the philosophical underpinnings of the American ideal and confusing the American psyche.

I wish you'd use more specific language. If we're to bring eachother above the dysfunction in American society, which is in no way inevitable, we need to move from intuitively understanding the problem to insightfully understanding the problem.
