1/ Everything that was right about the post World War II era (alliances of cooperation etc.) they’re tossing aside. Everything that’s an obsolete perspective left over from the 20th century & totally inapplicable to the 21st (racist,imperialist tendencies etc) they’re shoring up.

2/ There’s a deeper virus than just a biological one here. More like a virus in a computer, disabling our operating system, inhibiting our moral functioning, unraveling the philosophical underpinnings of the American ideal and confusing the American psyche.

1/2 I'm sorry but this is a fundamentally myopic narrative. What was right about WW2 i.e the social contract between government, corporates and labor started breaking down in 60's with globalization. The rise of China nailed the coffin shut. Problem is no one reinvented the order
