I wonder if the book is the white watered down version of MLK, where he is only a civil rights leader, or a real covering of history in how MLK hated capitalism? When MLK marched, civil right was a minor aspect. To get those civil rights, he knew capitalism must be dismantled.

One more I might suggest... A Politics Of Love- A Handbook For A New American Revolution by Marianne Williamson. A brilliant read!

The Essential King is Breaking The Silence. Unfortunately Thich Nhat Hanh's contention that people deserve their government and governments deserve their people holds true: both are abhorrently w/o compassion: see our war of terror for daily commerce.

Any reading of Gandhi that ignores the role of violent resistance to British occupation, or ignores King's evolution on the validity of violence, is a misreading of history. "it is necessary to utter the truth in order to deal with the great problems that we face in our society."
