The govt has no idea how most of us live in this country. They throw good money after bad. They should put some money in the hands of ppl who need it not on some pie in the sky policy that will never come to fruition or give corps stimulus money that will never reach the ppl.

It just proves that neolibs have an insatiable need for means-tested bullshit. These Senators clearly don't think $4,000 in direct subsidies is "too expensive", but the notion of just... giving people $4,000 in cash... is apparently a step too far??? God damn it.

People aren't infinitely adaptable widgets, as Andrew Yang said. Retraining programs have had success rates at around 10-15% for displaced manufacturing workers. That's an utter failure. It's time to get these people out of congress.
