Traditional politicians think people are so self-interested all they care about is how a particular policy affects them. Visionary politics speaks to the part of you that cares about your country; you’re smart enough to know that what undermines its principles will undermine you.

I support the point of this tweet, however, this is the logic used by fox news brain washed poor white people to vote against their self interests. They actually believe social safety nets are destroying their country and they need to vote against politicians that support them.

I think that's what makes Bernie so unique in today's politics. He doesn't treat voters like some self interested children. He treats them like adults that weigh carefully the decisions they make. It's a crying shame his campaign was derailed by the establishment and their greed
