I like you a lot but this sounds very naive, sorry. Who is asking us to decide what kind of future we choose Marianne? The corporate Democrats vs the Plutocrat fascist Republicans? That's a choice without a choice. We are being asked to hope rich people give us crumbs.

Too bad we have the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Any system's natural tendencies are towards increased entropy and chaos. It ain't gonna happen "because it always does", it doesn't. You have to be constantly vigilant and work at it to prevent this.
