Well, that’s sort of the point. “Karen” is a reminder to white women that despite their oppression as women, they hold certain privileges and can oppress others when they demand to speak to the manager or call the police on POC people just trying to have a cookout in the park.

I don’t see that as the point at all. The misogyny is still there. How is the white woman any more privileged than the white man? He, in fact, is more privileged than her. And how is demeaning any group a step on the path to where we want to be?

Look at the history of coming to defense of white women in America. The alleged "victimization" goes a long way back. And even when they're caught in a lie somehow they're still "the victim!" As illustrated with the calls on black people minding their damn business.

Are you using a Karen defense? Please, not misogynist it mocks the white supreme gal, who is awful to others and feels entitled to all benefits and rule making. Who believes she must be heard, only and above everyone else. Who believes a view other than her own is awful.

White women are more privileged than white men by the simple fact that far more women are afforded the option of NOT working at all (sometimes after divorce) while so few men are not.

Nobody is saying a white woman is more privileged or more racist than their male counterpart. But despite the misogyny they experience, white women “demean” POC with micro aggressions and and outright racism. Those are Karens.

Stereotypes are dangerous. Every group has a shadow side, but identifying an entire group by their shadow is where the greatest evil comes from. The fact that it starts out as a “joke” just makes it even more dangerous. Trump does that. We shouldn’t. Just my opinion…
