These one-time payments don’t allow anyone to relax even if they take some of the edge off. What don’t these people understand about $2k a month for as long as it lasts? Our govt is so miserly to the average American and so generous to the rich ones.

My family of 4 has survived on far less than $2000/month. SSI disability payments are $783

$1200 won't cover a month of rent for most people. Florida is starting evictions again on the 17th and most of us here are still waiting on our unemployment.

I'm agreeing with the sentiment of Marianne's post, but wonder if the political reality is a choice between passing a bill offering another $1,200 once, or submitting one aiming for $2,000 monthly that doesn't pass.

Im on SSI because I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy, I have not recieved a penny from the coronavirus stimulus. Yet everyone I know btw making over 100,000 had gotten theirs weeks ago. I have $600/ mo to survive on.
