1/ In 1970, Nixon established the Environmental Protection Agency. In 1986, Reagan gave 3 million undocumented workers amnesty. That's how far the Republican party has drifted from its principles and its soul. Republicans should work on that.

2/ In 1944 FDR proposed a 2nd Bill of Rights: every American has right to job, adequate wage & decent living, decent home, medical care, economic protection due to sickness, accident, age or unemployment, good education. That's how far Dems have drifted. Dems should work on that.

I recently listened to an interview with Governor Schwarzenegger and he described himself as a Lincoln republican & cited other names. Even in my lifetime our country has changed SO much. It was almost impossible to "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" even before this.
