1/ In 1970, Nixon established the Environmental Protection Agency. In 1986, Reagan gave 3 million undocumented workers amnesty. That's how far the Republican party has drifted from its principles and its soul. Republicans should work on that.

2/ In 1944 FDR proposed a 2nd Bill of Rights: every American has right to job, adequate wage & decent living, decent home, medical care, economic protection due to sickness, accident, age or unemployment, good education. That's how far Dems have drifted. Dems should work on that.

Reagan gave 3 million undocumented workers amnesty (and did nothing to stem the flow of new undocumented workers) because that’s what the cheap-labor-craving corporate interests that he was elected to serve wanted. Trump would do the same if it were politically tenable.

Yes, this is all true but the Democrats have marched right with them. 20 years ago Single Payer was a policy position for the party, 2020 and the party nominee fights against it. They take the left for granted and spit on them every chance they get.
