3/ Instead, the virus hit us much harder than it had to & a wave of economic despair has slammed us hard. Now people want to go back to work to pay their rent & feed their kids, which is likely to cause the next wave of mass infection. Terrible? Yes, but important to understand .

4/ I don’t think we can get out of this mess until enough of us face it in all its horror; not just the results of bad government but the reality of bad government - its utter venality. And it is ours to change. It will not be easy but our democracy, and our lives, depend on it.

And it’s not gonna happen if enough people use that as an excuse not to make sure Trump is defeated in November. I know what they did. Believe me I know. But that’s two broken legs and right now we’re having a heart attack.
