We know who he is, so much so we don’t really need to keep talking about it. The real question is who are we? Are we a generation of adults committed enough to do everything necessary to defeat him - and his political phenomenon - at the polls in Nov & then restore our democracy?

Reading the replies to you and they're very depressing. People are so demoralized. There is no leadership.

We all need to toughen up. This moment is nothing compared to how demoralizing a second term for Trump would be. In a democracy, every citizen has to find the leader within ourselves. The fact that so many abandoned that responsibility is part of how we got here to begin with.

I fear if Trump gets a second term... We will fall so far down the rabbit hole of corruption... It will be an unfathomable journey back.

Maybe let's not run a rapist, then we can talk.

The DNC needs to act strong and stand up to a powerful man who has been credibly accused of rape. They need to make him step down and replace him, now! This isn’t a tough decision!! Our leaders are cowards for not speaking truth to power or doing what is necessary to beat Trump!

Respectfully, "toughen up" means actually taking a stand. I will not allow fear of Trump to dictate my principles. It's time we stop voting for corruption and find a new path forward.

This is a Democracy for show, but not in the voting booth. And voting for the lesser evil is not gonna change that. We must fight the system as a whole, and stick to our values. One of those would be to support sexual assault survivors even against the most powerful.

No. Accepting "lesser evil" candidates, because our "leadership" cajoled us with fear, is how we got here. The more courageous path is the one that scares you MORE, not LESS.

Toughen up? Late great words of Malcolm X, We didn’t land on Plymouth Rock. Plymouth Rock landed on us. How much more tough do we need to be? We have waited, protested, thrived despite everything and you think we need to toughen up! Feck this white noise! #NeverBidenNeverTrump

You don’t seem to recognize how cynical it sounds to call us to “responsibility” in this context. You’re echoing the neoliberal hypocrisy where the workers must be austere and self-responsible in order to serve the agenda of the wealthy. Do you trust a man like Biden?

THANK YOU. AMEN Sister. Time to grow up show up, level up and toughen up! The Declaration of Independence uses words and phrases like duty, we must, and necessity a LOT. It’s not abt whether we feel like it. We MUST do this. It is our DUTY.
