When I was growing up my father used to walk around the house saying, “Beat the system, kids!” My mother would usually respond with something like, “Come eat dinner, Sam. It’s going to get cold.” It took me over 60 years to realize how much he wasn’t joking.

Recall father of musician friends across street in Littletown of the 70's (45 minute walk from North Bridge in 76 at 18.) say, "Its the bank that owns the house." He had other reality words too.

Eastern philosophy says: don’t waste your energy beating something. Instead, find a way to dodge its offense and let it waste its own energy. Or, perhaps, find a work around and abandon it instead. Decentralizing our sources of life, sharing what we have locally, is the future.
