The answer is not to reopen the economy; it's to freeze the economy. The government should provide everyone with the economic wherewithal to survive this period without leaving home. It's criminal to make people have to choose between their livelihood and their health.

Unless you can figure out a way for the food to harvest itself, pack itself, butcher itself and deliver itself, someone is going to work. Pretty much everything we rely on to live is because someone went to work.

Yes, the state should decide who is important and who is not. If you are not essential to the state then you are not important to the state and therefore a serf
