The answer is not to reopen the economy; it's to freeze the economy. The government should provide everyone with the economic wherewithal to survive this period without leaving home. It's criminal to make people have to choose between their livelihood and their health.

Where does this money come from? The government generates NO funds to pay for anything - it literally has to TAKE every last cent from other people’s earnings

True @marwilliamson but until that happens, my livelihood turns into my health problems with time, as I eat a less healthy diet, do not access appropriate healthcare due to lack of money, and don’t forget about all the mental health ramifications of lockdown. It’s not a choice.

Unless you can figure out a way for the food to harvest itself, pack itself, butcher itself and deliver itself, someone is going to work. Pretty much everything we rely on to live is because someone went to work.

How long do you think the government should support all of us? What if this goes on for months? Do they just keep printing money? Look at Sweden. They never shut down and WHO is holding their method up as a model.

I couldn’t agree more Marianne. The Prime Minister of New Zealand chose to respond to the crisis in this way-in addition to tracing, testing tracking, acting fast & early. Jacinda Ardern placed the well being of the people first. Our government did not...and is not. The result👇
