Americans have been trained over the last few decades to expect so little from govt, propagandized to believe govt actually helping them is a bad thing. It’s a tragic surrender to corporate control & a betrayal of the ideal of govt “of the people, by the people & for the people.”

Federal government doesn't deserve 30% of our taxes. What does its citizens get from their government? They don't tackle any of the longstanding issues, climate change, D- infrastructure, they know how to buy and make weapons and we shouldn't fund that for them anymore.

It’s not the amount of our taxes that’s the problem, it’s what they’re doing with the money. Too often they give our tax dollars to huge corporations so they can rip people off even further. It’s a political-corporate matrix that won’t end until we get the money out of politics!

Agreed, campaign finance reform and term limits.... elections should be paid from public pool where all candidates have access to same resources; the creativity and efficiency of campaigns do the rest. Lobbyists and special interests need to be cleaned up and moneytrailsfollowed
