Trump has repeatedly told people that once Covid is over the economy will go back to booming, but many of the people he’s saying that to will no longer have businesses left to boom. Republican leaders who are supporting his nonsense have crossed over from cowards to accomplices.

Which is why we can’t stay on lockdown any longer than is absolutely necessary. The economic destruction caused by that will be irrecoverable. Economic suicide.

If the government provided a bailout that actually paid workers rather than their overlords, they wouldn’t have to be choosing between their health and their livelihoods.

That can work for a time but if the underlying businesses (i.e. "Overlords") run out of cash and have to close, none of this matters. That's the underlying economic problem we face with these lockdowns.
