As painful as all this is, on the other side of it we’ll have the opportunity to reset, to start over with so many things. We have to hold on to that and not let despair overwhelm us. Not every generation gets a chance to recreate the world.

Question is will we take advantage of it? #COVID19 has most certainly exposed our vulnerabilities but are we willing to invest what it takes to rethink, redesign and reconstruct those systems, especially education and healthcare? If the past is any indication, I doubt it.

But nothing like this has happened before. We’ve never been shaken up like this in the past. I think that creates an opening… a possibility… we need to think that way, to declare it and to commit to it.

An opening for sure, but everyone needs to commit to not going back to "business as usual" when it comes to investing in real structural change and access to education and healthcare. I hear you, I'm with you, but unfortunately we're not in charge.
