Yes! If government pays for military equipment to fight a war, it makes sense for government to pay for drugs and medical supplies to fight a pandemic.

So now your advocating socialism where government controls the means of production. How about we bring back AMERICAN companies from China to do this. Creating more jobs and competition to lower prices. It's also called ingenuity.

Yeah ... like roads, the Weather Service, child protection services (such as they are), national parks, and so forth. You might want to read up on what the government actually does.
