The soul of both parties can only be regained through passage of #HR1, the We the People Act. When public financing of campaigns replaces private funding, we start to whittle away at our #SociopathicEconomicSystem. There is bipartisan revulsion of corporatism.

Alas that’s not going to happen, in my humble opinion. The two party system itself is doomed. We are way too populous and diverse a nation to be governed this way anymore. Look at the charts on partisanship in Congress over the last 40 years! We are instead decentralizing.

Yes! I'm hoping for both parties to get their soul back soon.

So @JeffFlake doesn't know any Republicans. Got it.

Jeff Flake isn't a Republican. Just sayin... And where you're WRONG is that neither national party has or ever had any soul. It was all about an arrangement.

Jeff Flake is not respected and is a flake. Glad he is gone. He was part of the swamp.

These two parties can't be salvaged until we have election/donor/lobbyist reform. The way Tulsi Gabbard ran her campaign is the model.

Jeff seems like a "I take a wide stance" when in public restrooms kinda guy.

Do you think maybe it is a longer term Republican strategy? Sort of like Machiavelli's tale of the ruler who conquered a state, sent in an evil governor, visited in person after a year, feigned horror, had the governor impaled in the square and was forever after beloved ?
