Conservatives tend to emphasize more of America has done right & progressives tend to emphasize more of what America has done wrong. The higher truth lies in realizing both: loving our ideals and possibilities enough to be brutally honest with ourselves about what has gone wrong.

from at least the 80s on the republicans have been at least as “what is wrong with america” as the democrats ever have been. from rock music to taxes conservatives have been almost nothing but a laundry list of grievances and no solutions except bans, cut taxes and deregulation.
